WBRC is now accepting applications for an Anchor/Reporter job. The successful candidate should have at least five years of experience as a primary anchor/reporter in mid-size market or five years of experience as a reporter/anchor in a major news market. Candidate must be able to demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must be absolutely comfortable with doing non-scripted reports – either from the studio or in the field. Candidate will be required to shoot, write and edit stories for air. Candidate will be required to write print-style stories for the internet. Candidate will be required to generate story ideas and be an active participant in the editorial process. The successful candidate will be highly energetic, engaging, and responsible for maintaining a fresh and professional on-air look. Candidate will be required to connect with viewers using social media. Candidate will be required to engage community members through speaking engagements and other special events. The goal is for the successful candidate to recruit viewers to an already strong news operation. Candidate must be able to work weekends, holidays, overnights, extra hours, etc. Candidate must have a valid driver license. Knowledge of Alabama is a plus.
