WSFA 12 News is looking for a full-time & a part-time 6pm News Producer. College degree in Communications, Journalism, or English. Minimum 2 years experience producing/writing news at a commercial TV station. Must have a passion for great visual storytelling. Energetic journalist who works well in an often fast paced, deadline oriented environment. Excellent tease writing is a must. Also candidates should be adaptable to changing schedules, work well with other news personnel, other departments within the TV station, and the public. Strong writing, keen editorial judgment and ability to handle breaking news are a requirement. Accuracy in gathering of facts and spelling is critical. Coordinate story content/production through discussions with news managers, anchors, reporters, meteorologists, associate producers, assignment managers, production assistants, graphic artists, directors, editors. Answer phones and handle viewer requests. Write news stories for on air as well as wsfa.com. Perform other duties as needed and directed by News Director.
